My Photos of Explorer’s Arrival

I just wanted to share my experience last weekend as the Space Shuttle mock-up Explorer arrived in Houston by barge. I didn’t attend the “Shuttlebration” block party on Friday but enjoyed watching Explorer coming into dock. I worked the day shift on the weekend while Explorer was moved down the road on Sunday to the museum.

Look closely and you can see a confetti cannon

Mock-up not to scale?

She looked pretty in the lights later that night.

I've seen Endeavour and Enterprise, but Explorer still surprised me by it's size, dwarfing the 3 lane road

We snuck out of mission control on a break to snap some pictures!

Houston did better than New York, only a few leaves stuck in a tile.
